The sole distinction between taking alpha-gal through meat and getting bit by a tick is the reality that if the alpha-gal has been absorbed, no adverse effects should result. Nevertheless, when alpha-gal enters the circulatory system, similar to getting bitten by a tick, it induces an extreme response.

Syndrome Discovered Accidentally

Alpha-gal condition is very recent, having been found by mistake in 2008. This is notwithstanding the reality that meat-related sensitivities triggered by tick bites have certainly existed for many years, if not generations.

Cecil proceeded to the medical professional, who informed him that he had grown a food allergy after eating beef or hamburger. The doctor subsequently concluded that a tick bite was the most probable source of this sensitivity.

When Cecil discovered the tick, he removed it. The tick looked pale brown and featured a white dot on its rear end. The lone star tick, identified by its starlike white blotch, is only seen on mature female ticks.
