Rumors of Meghan Markle’s divorce book had fans of the royal couple wondering if something is actually wrong with their marriage but those close to them have assured nothing is wrong.
In fact, one source has alleged that Harry and Meghan can’t split even if they wanted to because they know their value is in being a couple. Markle has only released a children’s book so far and while she has plans to author more books, it is unlikely to be about a divorce.
Why Meghan Markle’s Divorce Book May Never Exist
Speculations of divorce have always swirled around Harry and Meghan. Last week, a Vanity Fair cover story alleged that Meghan’s team quietly had meetings with an unnamed publishing house to “gauge interest” in the idea for a divorce book.
It caused many to start wondering if there was trouble in paradise. However, a source who has worked closely with the couple has said no divorce is happening.

“Meghan and Harry know that they are tied together, their value is in being a couple — even if they wanted to split, they couldn’t. And honestly, they are obsessed with each other. They are just two narcissists,” the source said.
Another insider familiar with the original $20 million Penguin Random House deal the couple signed in 2021 has also said they had never heard anything about a divorce book.
The highly-publicized deal, which was originally believed to include books on “leadership” and “wellness,” seems to have quietly dissipated after Harry’s best-selling memoir, “Spare.” However, one thing is clear — the Sussexes are worth more as a couple.
“It doesn’t benefit them to be apart — they have all their deals together,” the publishing insider said, adding that Netflix was desperate to get their docu-series and, as a result, agreed to most of their demands but only as long as they remain a couple.
What Does Meghan Markle’s Rumored Divorce Book Cover?
Vanity Fair’s source has reportedly clarified that the so-called “divorce” book was to be focused on the aftermath of a split from Harry and not Markle’s first husband, Trevor Engelson.
Markle and Engelson divorced in 2014. According to Page Six, their marriage is not something she likes to talk about. Vanity Fair’s report noted that the book meeting did not confirm that the Sussexes were breaking up. It was reportedly meant to see if the publisher would “theoretically be interested” if they were to ever part ways.
VF stated that the publisher made no offers, and no manuscript was produced because there was no divorce to write about.
Are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Separating?
The media has cried wolf many times, but the couple still seem to be going strong. Harry addressed divorce speculation at the New York Times’ 2024 DealBook Summit last December. He said, “Apparently, we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?’”
He has gotten used to the constant speculation. However, he noted that he feels “sorry” for the online trolls that are invested in their marriage.
“It’s hard to keep up with, but that’s why you just sort of ignore it. The people I feel most sorry about are the trolls,” Harry said. “Their hopes are just built and built, and it’s like, ‘Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,’ and then it doesn’t happen. So I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do.”
Are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Planning To Write a Book About Their Divorce?
There has been no confirmation from Harry or Meghan about plans to write a book centered on their divorce especially since it is yet to happen. While Vanity Fair’s report claims Markle’s team met a publisher to gauge the idea for the book, a source close to the couple has expressed confidence in their continued partnership.

Their marriage looks as strong as ever. However, if a divorce ever enters the picture, only time will tell how both parties respond to it. Some think there will be books.
