In 2016, Netflix debuted “The Crown,” a historical series loosely based on past occurrences in the British royal house. Presently, the show is four years in, and fans can barely get enough.

There have been speculations about the royal family members and what they think of the show. However, the question is, do the royal family members watch it? And if they do, what are their thoughts?

Prince Philip

Matt Smith, who played “Prince Philip” on the show, once shared that one of his friends was once in the same event as the late Duke of Edinburgh.

The pair struck a brief conversation of which Damon’s friend asked Philp if he watched the show; he noted that Philip scoffed, indicating that he did not.

Princess Eugenie

Vanessa Kirby, who played Princess Margaret in the first and second season of the Netflix-aired show, shared that a friend was once at the same party with Eugenie.

She noted that a young lady there showed her love for the show at one point, noting that she felt pride while watching it. The young lady added that her granny also fancied it. Kirby’s friend later realized that it was Princess Eugenie.

Queen Elizabeth

Insiders have relayed that the Queen enjoys the show, especially it’s the first season. However, she took issue with the second season that suggested that Prince Philip was insensitive to Prince Charles’ feelings.

There was a scene in particular where Prince Philip went to pick Charles from Scotland. The scene suggested that Philip had no sympathy for his son. The insider added that “that simply didn’t happen.”

However, there has been another royal insider account where the individual specifically stated that the Queen has no desire to watch herself in a fictitious TV program.

Sarah Ferguson

Ferguson, the Duchess of York, was married to Prince Andrew, and she has shared that she cherishes the part where the series depicted her wedding. Her wedding was filmed in the fourth season, which premiered earlier this year.

Prince Harry

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to enjoy watching the show. It is noteworthy that the royals of Sussex have never mentioned or in any way alluded to watching “The Crown.”

However royal biographer, Kate Nicholls, stated in her book, “Harry: Life, Loss, and Love,” that “Meghan loved to make extravagant dinners for Harry, and they enjoyed staying in… and watching films and TV shows like The Crown on Netflix.”

Prince William

Prince William is said not to watch the show because he disapproves of it. According to news from people who claim to be friends with William, the Duke does not find the show pleasant because he feels like his parents’ stories are being exploited for money.

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall

The duchess and second wife of Prince Charles is said to fancy the series, and according to a close source’s imagination, “she’ll be tuning in with a glass of red wine to watch it, she has seen the previous series. She has a wonderful sense of humor, and this won’t fuss her in the slightest.”

Prince Edward and Countess Sophie

Prince Edward and his wife are said to have given their seal of approval to “The Crown.” The pair reportedly have a tradition of going to see movies during the weekends with the Queen, and they also have a Netflix account.
