How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966)
Nothing against Jim Carey, but the OG exists for a reason. The entire narrative revolves around this character, who is basically the ultimate holiday hater. He performed a complete 180 after witnessing how the Whos don’t need all of the presents and decorations to get into the Christmas spirit.
This rendition is unique in that it retains everything of the classic Dr. Seuss strangeness, including the curly buildings, unusual instruments, and wild Who hairstyles. It is a fantastic reminder that even the most grumpy people may benefit from a little compassion and, perhaps, an invitation to supper.
The Polar Express (2004)
“The Polar Express” is a film adaptation of all those wild Christmas Eve fantasies you had as a child. The animation has an uncanny valley quality to it, but it works wonderfully for a story about the strange, beautiful sensation you get on Christmas Eve.

It is a beautiful story of soldiers wanting to aid their former Army leader by putting on a spectacular Christmas show at his struggling inn. Even if you are not generally into the retro movie scene, something about this one simply feels right.
