Angelina Jolie and her children have just about had enough and seriously want Brad Pitt’s winery lawsuit thrown out so they can all focus on healing and moving forward.
The winery battle has now taken on a new dimension, one that could have far-reaching consequences on Pitt’s career, as Jolie just made a move that could further look into claims that the actor was abusive.
What Is the Current Status of the Lawsuit Between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt?
According to a decision made by a judge on Monday, November 25, Brad Pitt, 60, must now disclose some crucial documents. Paul Murphy, Angelina Jolie’s lawyer, says they will prove “communications concerning abuse and years of cover-up” on Pitt’s end.
These documents include emails, texts, and other written communications. However, nothing between him and his attorneys or therapists will be revealed. Brad Pitt’s legal team has tried to get the motion denied. They have called the requests “wide-ranging and intrusive ” and a “sensationalist fishing expedition.”

According to Murphy, the documentation they wish to reveal is “crucial evidence.” One that Pitt has “fought for years to hide.” “His actions harmed Angelina and their children and are central to this case,” Murphy added.
“But I want to again emphasize that Angelina never wanted any of this,” Murphy continued. Murphy says Jolie never pressed charges, left all their properties, and even tried to sell him the winery in the first place.
“To this day, Mr. Pitt has never been held accountable for his actions and has at all times controlled Miraval and the winery, yet he still demands more,” Murphy added. “She wants this to end. The children want this to end, and Mr. Pitt should focus on healing their family, not pursuing lawsuits.”
If Pitt refuses, Jolie’s lawyer says she will be forced to “defend herself in court by presenting the evidence necessary to demonstrate that Pitt’s allegations are demonstrably false.”
What Led to the Lawsuit Filed Against Brad Pitt’s Winery?
Brad Pitt’s winery lawsuit faults Jolie for selling her half of their winery estate, Château Miraval, to Tenute del Mondo, the wine division of the Stoli Group, in 2022. Her action allegedly broke an agreement to not sell without the other’s approval.
Earlier this month, Pitt won a crucial victory in the winery battle, pushing the case closer to trial with potential proof that the former couple had a written agreement about selling. “This is a clear victory for Brad which demonstrates the legitimacy of his claims and demonstrates yet again the other side’s talk is not backed up with substance,” a source close to Pitt said.
Jolie’s previous argument was that she tried selling it back to Pitt, but he required an NDA as part of the deal, which she rejected. In the Brad Pitt winery lawsuit saga, a judge ruled in May that Jolie must produce eight years’ worth of NDAs. Pitt’s team hopes this can help illustrate that NDAs are a standard business practice.
Jolie’s team claimed Pitt’s NDA offer was wide-ranging and would have contractually bound her to “silence” about his alleged abuse.
Angelina Jolie Wants the Brad Pitt Winery Lawsuit To End
In July, Murphy said that Jolie wants Pitt to “end the fighting” by dropping this lawsuit. Pitt, in his past offer to buy Jolie’s stake in the winery, “tried to punish and control Angelina by demanding a newly expanded NDA to cover his personal misconduct and abuse,” Murphy said at the time.
“Those actions are central to these proceedings,” he added. “We are not at all surprised Mr. Pitt is afraid to turn over the documents demonstrating these facts.” Meanwhile, Pitt’s lawyers claim Jolie wants these documents “as part of her efforts to turn this business dispute into a re-litigation of the former couple’s divorce case.”
What Happened Between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt?
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were Hollywood’s power couple until she filed for divorce. The divorce came days after a September 14, 2016, fight on a private plane that saw a drunk Pitt get abusive in front of the kids.

Pitt, who has since become sober, denied the allegations and was cleared by authorities after investigations at the time. Jolie’s lawyers have claimed in a previous winery filing that Pitt’s “history of physical abuse of Jolie started well before” the altercation on the plane.
Pitt and Jolie were declared legally single by a judge in 2019. They share six kids: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox. Several of the kids have removed Pitt from their last name and barely have contact with him and his family.
