Reality television star Nikki Bella shared her sincere take on the chances of becoming her son, Matteo’s sole custodian should she split from fiancé, Artem Chigvintsev.
Ahead of the November 12 episode of the reality show, “Total Bellas,” entertainment icon Nikki Bella solidified her claims to her newborn son, Matteo Chigvintsev.
In a sneak peek of the episode, the twins, Nikki and Brie lived out their best and worst pregnancy moments. The sisters also shared revealing insights into their pregnancy journey, including Nikki’s candid opinion about her dream pregnancy.
Interestingly, Nikki Bella, who shares 3-month-old son, Matteo, with her fiancé and “Dancing With The Stars” alum, Artem Chigvintsev, believes being a mother was enough to earn custody of her child.
In the clip from the podcast’s season six premiere, a family member noted that Nikki was a handful to handle. To buttress the point, the relative asked the star what their child’s future would be if she and Chigvintsev split. To this, she replied:
“Matteo would come with me because I’m the mother.”
Further, in the episode, Brie and Nikki discussed extending their sisterly connection to nursing their kids. While Nikki frowned at the idea of switching breastfeeding duties, Brie, who welcomed son, Buddy, 24-hours after Matteo’s birth, embraced it.
Besides sharing close birth dates, the 36-year-old former wrestler and her sister conceived their babies in the same location. Nikki once recounted how she and Chigvintsev conceived Matteo in Brie’s home during a visit.
According to her, the pregnancy was unexpected as it happened hours after the doctors declared her unable to conceive without aid. Despite the circumstances, they embraced the news wholeheartedly.
Chigvintsev and Nikki welcomed their son on July 31, but that hardly marked the end of her pregnancy-related struggles. The athlete went candid about her battle with postpartum depression in an October episode of “Total Bellas.”
Going further, she urged women in the same shoes to endeavor to seek help rather than trying to be strong. Acting strong, she noted, only made the condition worse as she learned first-hand. With help from Chigvintsev and other relatives, she learned to overcome postpartum depression.
As most may recall, Nikki and Chigvintsev first met after partnering up in the 25th season of “DWTS” in 2017. However, they rekindled their connection in 2018 following Nikki’s split from ex-fiance, John Cena.
Rumors of their affair flooded the media early in 2019. The pair, however, debunked the claims until July when Nikki outed their relationship status on her podcast.
In January 2020, months after their relationship kicked off, Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev announced their engagement. The news of the former wrestler’s pregnancy followed days later.
Since then, the lovebirds have nurtured their love, with their newborn’s arrival further reinforcing their determination to build a family together.
