Zendaya is clearing the air after accusations circulated that she was behind the lengthy delays for Euphoria’s highly anticipated third season.
In a November 13 interview with Vanity Fair, the 28-year-old actress laughed off the rumors, stating that her schedule was not the issue. She said that she had been off for a few years and that any delays were not due to her schedule. Zendaya explained that she had been open and waiting throughout this period.
Despite her recent high-profile films, “Dune: Part Two” and “Challengers”, Zendaya stated that both movies were completed in 2022, keeping her off-set for over two years. “I haven’t been on a set in, like, two years almost,” she revealed, admitting that she feels “rusty” and occasionally doubts her talents after the extended absence.
Zendaya reassured fans that “Euphoria” will begin filming in January 2025. Though she has not seen the script yet, she stated her enthusiasm about continuing Rue‘s journey, promising to “do justice to the people who love and care about” her character.

The comments came months after a Hollywood Reporter source said that show creator Sam Levinson “resented” Zendaya and blamed her “burgeoning film career” for production delays. HBO has repeatedly postponed “Euphoria” since its final episode aired in 2022. However, the drama is set to conclude with a powerful third season that will include a time jump.
When Is Euphoria Season Three Release Date?
HBO and Max’s Chairman and CEO Casey Bloys said during a November 2023 press presentation that “Euphoria” was initially set to return in 2025, but that appears to have changed. However, no other announcements have been made.
Fans are not exactly delighted to wait years for new “Euphoria” episodes. However, the cast and crew were forced to change their plans due to the 2023 Hollywood labor strike and the terrible loss of actor Angus Cloud, who played the beloved character Fez.
HBO revealed to Variety on March 25, 2024, that season 3 has been delayed once more and that scripts are still being written.
“Euphoria” will begin filming again in January 2025, with all of the key protagonists expected to return. This should include Zendaya, Hunter Schaefer, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, and Maude Apatow.
Who Did Zendaya Play in Challengers?
In “Challengers,” Zendaya’s Tashi Duncan is a teenage tennis prodigy who sustains a career-ending injury. This was before her career got started. Tashi eventually becomes a coach, teaching her husband how to excel in professional tennis.
She is very determined and forceful in her training. Thus pushing her partner to his boundaries to help him reach his full potential and continue her legacy in the game. Fans will have to see the film to learn how Tashi‘s journey ends in the “Challengers” finale.

Zendaya’s Best Movies and Shows
In addition to being a bonafide fashion star, Zendaya has been establishing her acting skills for over a decade. With 2024’s “Challengers”, she demonstrated not only her ability to carry a film, but also that an Academy Award is entirely within her reach.
She already has a Golden Globe and two Emmys for her portrayal of Rue in HBO’s “Euphoria.” If you grew up watching Disney Channel movies or your family did, you may have encountered “Frenemies” (2012).
Zendaya co-stars with Bella Thorne in the film, which follows three pairs of best friends who argue, reconcile, and repeat. It may not be Oscar-worthy, but if you’re sentimental, there’s nothing wrong with revisiting one of Zendaya’s early roles.

“Malcolm & Marie” is a black-and-white film written and directed by Sam Levinson, who also created “Euphoria.” It stars Zendaya and John David Washington as a mismatched pair whose relationship is fraught with conflict.
Zendaya garnered numerous Best Actress nominations for her outstanding performance. Zendaya showcases her voice acting skills in 2018’s “Smallfoot,” a lovely and amusing animated film from Warner Bros.
It also stars Channing Tatum, Danny DeVito, and Common. The film follows a community of yetis who dwell in the Himalayas and have no knowledge that human beings exist.
