Veteran rapper 50 Cent has put in his two cents to a new and controversial California policy that provides health insurance for illegals. Enraged by the plan, the award-winning hip-hop artist is making his feelings known.

California announced that beginning on Monday, January 1, 2024, all residents will qualify for universal health care. While many have commended the idea, an aspect of the plan has yet to go down well with many people.

The state government is also extending the service to hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants in the state. Governor Gavin Newsom signed the law as far back as 2022.

This new law is a continuation of almost a decade-old policy in the state. Back in 2015, Gov. Jerry Brown signed a law allowing illegal migrant children to benefit from the state’s public health insurance program called Medi-Cal.

In 2019, Gov. Newsom expanded Gov. Jerry’s policy to cover illegals aged 19 to 25. While many kicked against both plans, this new policy has been much more provocative. The new policy will allow even more beneficiaries from 26 years old to 49.

“In California, we believe everyone deserves access to quality, affordable health care coverage – regardless of income or immigration status,” was the explanation from the governor’s office.

“Through this expansion, we’re making sure families and communities across California are healthier, stronger, and able to get the care they need when they need it,” the governor’s office told the press. But 50 Cent isn’t buying any of it.

The 48-year-old rapper has recently condemned the policy on social media. The TV producer asked on his Instagram, “I don’t understand this, this is going to cost 2.6 billion dollars for tax’s payers. They don’t even give veterans health insurance.”

The rapper further mentioned an MSNBC staff as he solicited clarification on the issue. “@arimelber, call my phone now, help me understand this sh*t. WTF,” he wrote.

50 Cent has been quite vocal about politics happening for the past few years. In October 2023, the rapper-turned-actor also questioned President Joe Biden. He queried the President for going on vacations during local and global unrest.

50 Cent has also criticized Los Angeles’s plan to let a certain category of offenders off without bail.

This new California healthcare expansion plan will cover about 700,000 illegal immigrants. Opponents of the plan say that it is a slap on the faces of its taxpayers, who hardly get enough in return for their taxes.

The new plan will cost taxpayers about $1.2 billion during the first 6 months and subsequently $3.1 billion every year. The bill is set to increase further as illegal migrants continue to pour into the country.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced that over 2 million migrants entered the country illegally in 2023’s fiscal year. This number isn’t too far from the 2.2 million entrants recorded crossing the Southern Border in the fiscal year of 2022.

50 Cent’s comment is a major blow to the popularity of Democrat policies nationwide. In 2020, the rapper asked his followers to vote for Donald Trump even after he had accused the then-president of disliking black people.
