Days after a video surfaced of Morgan Wallen hauling profanities including the N-word, “the Voice” alum rendered a public apology.
After a rowdy night out with friends comes the bitter reality of the resulting repercussion. Singer Morgan Wallen is living in the aftermath of his night of rampage and careless speech. Sadly the star’s profane speech included a racial slur for which he has since apologized:
“I’m embarrassed and sorry. I used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slur that I wish I could take back. There are no excuses to use this type of language.”
His apology followed a leaked video of him hauling profanities and racial slurs at one of his friends. The footage caused a stir among fans. In his public apology, the icon promised to turn for the better, saying:
“I want to sincerely apologize for using the word. I promise to do better.”
The video in question, captured by a neighbor’s doorbell cam, showed the actor and a group of friends staggering out of a car. They then assended a staircase leading up to Wallen’s home.
Just before taking the staircase, the music star rolled out the offensive words, appearing to ask someone to look after a drunk person.
The video did not ascertain where the group was coming from, but it was apparent their Sunday night escapade involved drinking.
Reports had it that the singer, who rose to prominence following his stint on “The Voice” seven years ago stopped by briefly at Luke Bryan’s restaurant, where he earned a standing ovation with his performance.
Morgan Wallen has won hearts with his songs since his first foray into music. He released his debut album, “If I Know Me,” in 2018. The third single on the album, “Whiskey Glasses” drove the world to near-insanity, charting number one on Country Airplay within months of its release.
Remarkably, the 27-year old’s private antics are as adventurous as his career profile, going by his constant public reproach. The recently-leaked video is hardly the first time the star would come under fire for such oversights.
Last October, Wallen faced media onslaughts when he breached COVID-19 protocols by attending a crowded party in Alabama. Footages of him kissing several women while partying surfaced as well leading to the cancellation of his scheduled performance on “Saturday Night Live.”
Following the incident, the icon apologized to fans, “SNL,” and his teammates for letting them down with his “short-sighted” behavior.
Although he lived up to his apology for months, striving to be a model citizen, it appears another public rampage was long-overdue.
