Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has so many hobbies these days that even his daughter isn’t sure what he does for a living. Zuckerberg has ventured into cattle ranching as a new hobby, joining a range of other activities like mixed martial arts, hydrofoiling, and CrossFit.
Consequently, his daughter is beginning to question if he’s primarily a cattle rancher rather than the CEO of a trillion-dollar tech company with plans for a vast virtual world.
On an episode of the Morning Brew Daily on Friday, Zuckerberg remarked, ‘If you’re like a kid — so, like, my daughters — it’s kind of hard to wrap your head around like what Meta is, right?’ He continued, ‘It’s this very abstract app, right? You’re like a young kid. So my daughter, for a while, just thought I was a cattle rancher.’
Fortunately, Zuckerberg’s daughter reassured him of her support for his ranching pursuits. He recounted her words: “‘She’s like: ‘All right, like Dad, that’s clearly what you do. It’s like Mark’s Meats isn’t ready for prime time yet, but you’re really focused on it.'”

Encouraged by his daughter’s backing, Zuckerberg is committed to producing top-tier meat. He’s bypassing conventional practices, opting to feed his cows a diet he deems exceptionally nutritious: beer and macadamia nuts.
Should his ranching venture prove successful, Zuckerberg humorously entertains the idea of transitioning into a full-time rancher role, jesting with his family about the prospect of launching “Mark’s Meats” once he’s finished with Meta.
One user expressed concern over the trend of the mega-wealthy purchasing various assets, including farms and ranches. “This is the America we now live in. The Mega Wealthy have so much money that they are buying everything they can.
Add this to all the foreign money. They are buying up all the farms and ranches, hospitals, trailer parks, houses and making them vacation rentals. even veterinary clinics. My state is getting bought up. Huge tracks”.

Another remarked on the privilege of having ample wealth to pursue hobbies extensively, even to the point of being mistaken for a full-time profession, while still accruing significant riches.
“It must be nice to have so much money you can spend so much time on your hobbies that people confuse it with a profession, and still generate vast wealth”. The tech billionaire is raising cattle on Ko’olau Ranch, a property he owns on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. In an Instagram post last month, he wrote:

“Started raising cattle at Ko’olau Ranch on Kauai, and my goal is to create some of the highest quality beef in the world. The cattle are wagyu and angus, and they’ll grow up eating macadamia meals and drinking beer that we grow and produce here on the ranch.”
Zuckerberg has no shortage of land on the island. According to a Wired investigation published a few months ago, the property includes 1,400 acres. “Less than one percent of the overall land is developed with the vast majority dedicated to farming, ranching, conservation, open spaces, and wildlife preservation,” a spokesperson for Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan told the technology publication.
