The hour-long CBS drama aired the second half of its 14th and last season on Friday, October 18, at 10 p.m. ET. Season 14 was released in two parts, with the first half showing earlier this year from February to May.

The “Blue Bloods” cast recently met at PaleyFest 2024, a multi-day entertainment extravaganza in New York City, to discuss the show’s last season and legacy. During a panel event for fans on October 17, various cast members discussed what they will miss most about their time on the show.

Meet the Cast of Blue Bloods

The family patriarch, Frank Reagan, is played by none other than Tom Selleck. He is a widower and the NYPD commissioner, and he will go to any length to keep his family safe. Danny Reagan, Frank’s oldest son, is an experienced NYPD detective and a former Marine.

A police procedural requires an effective assistant district attorney, which Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) strives to be. She is a no-nonsense lawyer who will go to any length to get justice, even if it means going against her own family.

Donnie Wahlberg plays Danny, the show’s moral compass. He is willing to put himself in danger for the greater good and frequently disagrees with his superiors. Jamie (Will Estes), the youngest Reagan son, was born with a golden heart, which drove him to abandon a promising legal career and become a cop.

He is a new officer who wants to make a difference while balancing justice and familial loyalty.

Sean (Andrew Terraciano) is the youngest of the Reagan grandchildren and a clone of his father, Danny. While he generally avoids conflict, he is not afraid to express his ideas, especially with his elders.

Abigail Baker, played by Abigail Hawk, an NYPD detective and the commissioner’s chief aide, is one of Frank’s closest confidants.

Tom Selleck, a 79-year-old veteran actor, expressed that what he will miss the most are the people behind the scenes—the writers, crew members, and those he saw daily. Moynahan, 53, reflected on the previous 14 years, stating that they had staff members who started with them on the pilot and stayed until the final scene of the 14th and 15th seasons.

She mentioned they all grew up together, going through life’s key events—babies, divorces, marriages, births, and deaths—as one team.

Wahlberg, 55, shared that he will miss every single moment despite it sounding cliché. He recounted getting in the car to the set with Marisa Ramirez and laughing all day, passing Selleck in the hallway and greeting him with “Hi, Dad,” and Selleck responding with “Hey, son.”

Cariou, 85, simply stated that he will miss everyone, reflecting on how it has been a wonderful time for him. He praised the team for being good at what they do and expressed pride in being part of it, calling it a wonderful legacy.
