Fox News Channel host and conservative media personality Sean Hannity, on the January 2 episode of his” The Sean Hannity Show” by iHeartRadio, announced that he has moved to the Sunshine State.

“We are now beginning our first broadcast from my new home,” Hannity announced on his iHeartRadio broadcast. “And that is in the free state of Florida,” he added. In addition, Hannity noted that he had enough of New York. Hannity’s move followed what many call a “blue state exodus.”

Thousands are moving from blue states like California and New York to more red states like Florida and Texas. Those moving to these red states have cited several reasons for the move. Some cited reasons like a lower cost of living or a desire to move to a safer area.

Like many who have made the move, Hannity pointed to left-wing policies for his move out of New York. Also, he boasted about Florida’s Republican leaders like Gov. Ron DeSantis. In addition, the renowned Fox News host said Florida’s conservative political climate drew him.

Compared to New York, the longtime home of “The Sean Hannity Show,” Hannity said he prefers Florida. Also, he said he “appreciates” Gov. Ron DeSantis, Sen. Rick Scott and Sen. Marco Rubio. “And finally, for the first time that I can think of in my adult life,” Hannity said.

“I actually have representatives in the state that I’m living in that share my values,” the radio host added. “I have a governor named Ron DeSantis, Senator Marco Rubio, and Senator Rick Scott.” Hannity said, “So I’m feeling much better about it.”

In addition, Hannity spoke about the benefits of living in Florida, such as its tax rates. The host then went on to rail against more Democratic states like his former home of New York. He also blamed their policies for pushing people out to other parts of the country, like Florida.

During the broadcast, Hannity also said he has enjoyed a warm welcome in Florida since the move. “It’s funny because I went out several days and met many people,” Hannity said. “There wasn’t one person that didn’t like me.” He also spoke about his former state and how people hated him everywhere.

“So it was a refreshing change of pace,” the Fox News host concluded. Before his move, Hannity owned a home in Palm Beach, north of Miami and Fort Lauderdale. His house was just a few miles from Donald Trump’s residence at The Mar-a-Lago Club.

Hannity is not the only major celebrity to have moved to Florida in recent months. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos also announced his move to Miami in November 2023. With the influx of movers, Florida continues to grow. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Florida saw one of the most significant population increases in July 2023.

According to the report, approximately 365,00 people, or 1.6% of the nation’s population, permanently relocated to the Sunshine State. Meanwhile, New York saw about 102,000 people moving out, the highest gross population decrease in the country.
