In response to police clearing out an anti-Israel camp, the student editors of the Columbia Law Journal have written to authorities requesting that all examinations be called off and all students cleared. They allege that the student body has been left irrevocably traumatized by the law enforcement operation.
In a note written following the disruption of the demonstrator’s camp and their ejection from the location, a short distance away, the note further demanded that the institution grant students a straightforward pass or fail score as they are so furious.
The editors stated in the published note that the cruelty experienced the night before had profoundly affected many of us on the committee. The editors went on; We know that this is the case for most of our colleagues.
There have been videos floating of cops abusing and taunting our students while wearing revolt apparel. The incident has left many of our colleagues and friends disturbed and emotionally imbalanced. At the moment, we are not in the right frame of mind for academics.

The note also stated that the encounter came about as a result of the escalating discomfort that students had been experiencing for some time due to the humanitarian disaster overseas and as the obvious prejudice against Jews, Islamophobia, and bigotry in school have increased.
The editors also added that if the examination is postponed, this would be a suitable response in accordance with the level of distress within us. Contrary to the above, the next most equitable solution would be a compulsory passing or failing.

The instability going on between Gaza and Israel has given rise to protests across tertiary institutions within the U.S. Other protests going on in various parts have seen students taking over facilities and setting up tents, which has also affected lecturers.
In April, over two thousand four hundred were taken into custody in forty-six annexes across the country. In some places, students have requested that colleges look into their portfolio of investments and probably put a hold on business activities with the entire troubled nation.
The editors further added that in our request to the school board to make the action examination a compulsory pass or fall, more than half of the student body agreed to it, but the school board has ignored our plight.

The note, which was jointly signed by 5 other publications at the institution, stated that, as an institution-managed publication, we would not operate with unfit learners. Several students are unfit at the moment, and focusing on academics now is out of it, also seeing that law enforcement officers have whisked away our friends and colleagues.
In all, over one hundred demonstrators were detained by police. As police stomped the encampment site, a few learners reported they were still frightened for their own security.
Drake Paul informed the news media that a lot of learners are new to this unsettling crowd mindset, so I’m really worried. Safety in the school facility is not guaranteed. He went on to say that I believe this response we got now took so much time to come. It ought to have taken place much earlier.
