Charlotte Easton Gillies was famous even before she arrived in this world. Her parents are Rachael Leigh Cook and Daniel Gillies, both well-known entertainers in Hollywood.
Her father, Daniel, is a famous actor with TV and big screen credits. One of his most notable roles was as Elijah Mikaelson in “The Originals,” a spin-off of the hit series “Vampire Diaries.”
Charlotte was born while Daniel was still filming “The Originals,” but he and Cook were very excited to meet their first child together. Charlotte’s mother, Cook, is also a successful actress.
She achieved fame thanks to her role in “She’s All That” and has since appeared in several other films, including the TNT series “Perception,” where she plays special agent Kate Moretti.
Cook has also appeared alongside Charlotte’s father on set while they filmed Showtime’s “Broken Kingdom.” Her relationship with Daniel gave her Charlotte, whom they both greatly adore.
Charlotte Easton Gillies Expressed Interest in Showbiz Before Her Birth
Daniel and Cook first announced they were expecting a child in May 2013. Their joy at becoming parents was palpable from their social media posts and statements.
Cook had been filming the second season of “Perception” but had concealed her baby bump from her co-workers on set. Back then, the expectant mother joked about how the unborn Charlotte was attracted to showbiz because the baby bump wouldn’t remain hidden.
She said: “I’ve been hiding my rapidly growing bump while shooting, but this kiddo is vying for screen time. We have a future actor on our hands.”
Cook and Daniel welcomed Charlotte in September 2013. The talented actor took to his Twitter page to share the news with his fans. He tagged the newborn the “tiny new empress of my everything” and confessed that they were “delirious.”
Charlotte Easton Gillies Jumped at the Chance To Be on the Red Carpet
Charlotte’s mother joked about her wanting screen time as an unborn child. However, it seems she was not far off point.
Charlotte’s interest in showbiz seems to be steadily growing, and like her mother said in the past, “We have a future actor on our hands.” In 2021, she attended her first-ever movie premiere alongside her mother, making it more special for the talented actress.
The pair debuted on the red carpet for the premiere of “He’s All That,” a fresh spin on the 1999 film that catapulted Cook to fame. According to Cook, who had previously expressed a desire to grace the red carpet alongside her daughter, Charlotte was just as excited about the idea as she had been.
The doting mother was pleasantly surprised her daughter, who was seven at the time, even knew what a red carpet was. She later admitted that her boyfriend, Kevin Mann, had suggested it, and Charlotte had immediately jumped at the opportunity.
Charlotte Has a Brother
Daniel and Cook revealed that they were expecting their second child in 2015. They welcomed the baby that same year and were again the happiest people on earth. They named him Theodore Vigo Sullivan Gillies.
The pair have both admitted that raising a boy is completely different from raising a girl, but initially, they thought it would be pretty much the same. Daniel said:
“It’s so different, and I’m not just talking about the gender thing.”
Daniel Gilles to PEOPLE
Daniel and Cook were wrapped around Theodore’s pinkie from day one. The actor adored his smiles, while Cook was grateful for how much he enjoyed cuddling with her.
Charlotte’s Parents Split in 2019
Cook and Daniel were married when they welcomed their two kids. They tied the knot in 2004, and their union lasted 15 long years before they decided to part ways.
It was a peaceful split. The couple opted to share legal and physical custody of their kids and have claimed to be “happily divorced.” Despite their marriage ending, they reportedly still get along well and have had a heart-to-heart with their kids on their separation.
Cook and Daniel are among the few Hollywood celebrities without an acrimonious split. Other examples include Megan Fox & Brian Austin Green. Fans hope things stay the same for the doting parents and can’t wait to see what Charlotte will become.
