What We Know About Aubrey Plaza’s Husband
Aubrey Plaza’s husband, Jeff Baena, was a director and screenwriter best known for films like “The Little Hours,” “Life After Beth and Joshy.” He and Plaza tied the knot in 2021. He graduated from New York University with a degree in film and then moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in directing.

At first, he worked in production, learning from filmmakers Robert Zemeckis and David O Russell (he co-wrote I Heart Huckabees with the latter) before he eventually broke away to make his own films. He also created an anthology series titled “Cinema Toast,” which aired on Showtime in 2021 and marked Plaza’s directorial debut. His final project, “Spin Me Round,” a comedy film starring Plaza, Alison Brie, Debby Ryan, and Molly Shannon, was released in 2022.

Reports claim Baena met Plaza in 2011, and they started dating in the same year. Somehow, they were able to keep what they shared under wraps for years. They were married before the world could yell, “I Heart Huckabee.” However, the revelation came in May 2021, when Plaza referred to Baena as her “darling husband” in an Instagram post.
“So proud of my darling husband @jeffbaena for dreaming up another film that takes us to Italia to cause some more trouble,” the caption read. Plaza, a talented actress in her own right, is best known for her performance in the hit US TV series “The White Lotus” and “Parks and Recreation.”
News of her husband’s death came shortly after she was announced as a presenter at Sunday’s Golden Globes ceremony, and it stopped her from attending. Filmmaker Brady Corbet offered his condolences while delivering his acceptance speech after winning Best Director for a motion picture drama. “My heart is with Aubrey Plaza and Jeff’s family,” he said on stage.
