The Armie Hammer sexual assault scandal ruined the career of the once-promising actor. The 38-year-old California-born actor has recently opened up about those dark days. He also spoke about his sexual kinks and how his life is currently going. Are there any chances that the “Hotel Mumbai” and “The Social Network” star will bounce back?
It’s been nearly four years since the Armie Hammer scandal broke out. The Santa Monica-born actor soon became a regular guest at the LAPD after allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced. Also, Hammer was accused of being a cannibal, allegations that shook the very foundations of his career. To date, he has yet to recover from it fully.
Hammer appeared on the January 1 episode of the Your Mom’s House podcast, where he gave more information about his experience. “The world seemed like it was falling apart,” he stated. Hammer was devastated and downcast throughout the LAPD investigation, which lasted for two years.
“People were deeply unhappy with their own lives. Then, this salacious story comes around where this actor wants to murder and eat people,” he stated.
“All of a sudden, everyone’s like, ‘Oh, this is so much more fun to focus on than the fact that I can’t leave my living room,’” he lamented. “Stories kept coming out and kept coming out and kept coming out,” he told hosts Christina Pazsitzy and Tom Segura.

What Happened to Armie Hammer?
In January 2021, multiple women accused Armie Hammer of sexual assault, rape, and cannibalism. The first accuser is Effie Angelova. She accused Hammer of raping her in 2017 during the period they had an affair from 2016 to 2020. Angelova spilled the allegations through her Instagram account @houseofeffie.
She also alleged that the actor is a cannibal. To prove her claims, she shared screenshots of messages they exchanged. The messages hinted at cannibalism and described rape fantasies and BDSM. She then sent a report to the LAPD, which immediately began an investigation.
Another allegation emerged from TV personality Courtney Vucekovich, entrepreneur Paige Lorenze, and actress Julia Morrison. They accused Hammer of a range of misconduct, including emotional abuse and sexual coercion during their relationships with him.
Vucekovich and Morrison went a step further. They detailed their alleged experiences with Hammer with audio recordings and photographs. These materials formed the pillars of a 2022 documentary that covered alleged abuse concerning the Hammer family.
Vucekovich told journalists in an interview that Hammer once threatened to cut her and lick her blood. Precisely, she alleged that he spoke about barbecuing her. These claims corresponded to the screenshots of messages Effie shared. In the messages, Hammer’s account spoke about wanting to see and eat human organs.
Is Armie Hammer Really a Cannibal?
Armie Hammer has repeatedly denied all the allegations. Also, after an extensive investigation, the LAPD couldn’t find sufficient evidence to charge him. During the podcast interview, Armie Hammer addressed the cannibalism allegations. He admitted that he loved BDSM.
He also admitted to using women to boost his self-confidence. “People were my bags of dope with skin on it. Like, having that, having people want to have sex with me, having sex with people, doing all that stuff, like, it gave me a sense of power. It gave me a sense of validation.” However, he maintained that his controversial conversations with the women were misunderstood.
“I like the idea that you are so completely mine,” he said. “I can do whatever I want, and you love it because you know you’re mine. This possession kind of thing, that’s just fun to talk about, especially if you’re drunk or stoned or high at night and you’re texting,” he stated.
“If anyone took anyone’s bedroom conversations — specifically, like, if people were having a little bit of sexy time — and they took the s*** that they said, even if it was completely vanilla, and you read that somewhere else out of context, everyone’s gonna go, ‘You guys are f***ing disgusting,’” he further explained.
Hammer, who said he was abused as a child, also denied the rape and sexual abuse allegations. Speaking further about his experience, he said, “You’re just left standing there naked in front of the world with all of your proclivities or kinks being judged by the world. That s*** is tough”
What We Know About the Armie Hammer Scandal Documentary
“House of Hammer,” a three-part documentary detailing alleged abuse perpetrated by the Hammer family, debuted on September 2, 2022. The film x-rayed the generations of the Hammer family and linked them to the “troubling accusations leveled against … Armie Hammer and the dark, twisted legacy of the Hammer dynasty,” the movie’s description read.
The documentary featured Vucekovich and Morrison, two of Hammer’s former girlfriends. Both of them released photos, audio recordings, plus voice notes they claimed were from their private conversations with the singer.
