In one of the difficult-to-reach regions of Venezuela, a group of archeologists stumbles across a perfect example of an ancient civilization that was unknown to the people for ages.
The site has been the subject of numerous research headed by José Miguel Pérez-Gómez. However, he and his team have been digging at the site for several months and found some truly incredible artifacts.
Vibrant Ancient Drawings Uncovered
Among them, one of the most distinguishable is the drawing of ancient art that has painted the walls of the newly excavated structure. The drawings illustrate such objects as animals, plants, and people. Also, a few integral parts of their images are outlined in very bright colors.
The sophistication and beauty of the built environment shown are remarkable entirely. It is easy to conclude that this civilization had intensively developed cults and religious belief systems.

The discovered rock art features stick figures, leaf motifs, and vibrant dot patterns that may have been utilized in ancient ceremonies.
According to Pérez-Gómez, “previous studies found no signs of human activity here, suggesting a previously unknown civilization,” giving each engraving a captivating sense of mystery.

The newly revealed city is of stone build and is over 2 thousand years old. This no other architecture that has been observed in the South American region

The team has been doing a tremendous job searching for the background of this vanished culture. They have been able to uncover sophisticated signs of a society that was governed, traded, and engaged in highly developed farming.

According to Pérez-Gómez, these locations may have had important cultural significance and were comparable to contemporary holy places.
In addition, he thinks that there may have been a spiritual significance to these old artworks by saying. “The location probably had a meaning and importance within the landscape, just as churches today.”

Certain drawings are deliberately positioned in difficult-to-reach areas among breathtaking scenery that probably served as inspiration for ancient artists.
According to the Rock Art Research journal, “situated on a clean oval-shaped rock space.” These were not merely scribbles but rather significant symbols.
