Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis opened up about the bathing policy or the lack of it in their family, and this has made them the butt of the internet joke.
Hollywood stars Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are about to discover that the internet never forgets, as they keep getting the flak for their family bathing routine. Ashton got a taste of this during his recent public appearance.
The star actor attended the college football match between his hometown team, the University of Iowa, and Iowa State rivals. His support for the University of Iowa lots did not augur well with the opponents, and he bore the brunt.
Ashton Was Booed
The “Butterfly Effect” actor joined the broadcasting team for ESPN’s GameDay to cover the event. The team sat in an elevated platform such that their hacks were turned to the spectators, and the crowd formed a backdrop.
In the clip shared on Twitter, Ashton could be seen giving his take on the game, but not much if his words could be heard. The “Killers” actor’s voice was drowned out by the crowd who booed him.
While he spoke, the chants included the words, “take a shower!” It continued to echo through the shirt clip. Ashton, however, remained unperturbed, keeping his voice calm and continuing his analysis.
How “Take A Shower” Came To Be
The chant from ESPN GameDay is one of many times the public called out Ashton and his wife after they spoke about their family. Back in July, they both appeared on an episode of Dax Shepard’s Armchair podcast.
The pair gave updates on their family life and parenthood, and at a point, the conversation switched to baths. Shepard had told his co-host Monica Padman that using soaps every day could ruin body oils.
At this point, Ashton and his wife joined in agreeing with this and added that they only washed vital parts of their body daily. This apparently stopped Padman in the tracks, but Kunis went on.
The “Bad Moms” actress noted that she didn’t have hot water while growing up, so she did not bathe many times. She shared that she was not the mom who always washed her newborns, and as the kids are older, they have a system.
While the “Friends With Benefit” actress relayed that she washed her face twice daily as well as the hidden parts of her body, the “No Strings Attached” actor attested to it. As for the kids, they only bathed them when the dirt was visible.
Kunis and Ashton Have a Warm Approach to the Backlashes
Critics and fans alike clamped down on the Ashton-Kunis family habit, nothing that they needed to do better. However, the couple seemed not to mind criticisms.
They took to social media, poking fun at the bathing. The couple and their kids, Wyatt and Dimitri, stood in the bathroom, and Kutcher could be heard complaining about bathing them too much.
Despite the flak that the award-winning stars received, Kunis and Kutcher have experts’ backing. Health experts have shared that regular baths are not necessary for kids between six and eleven. However, parents could choose daily bathing if they wanted.
