Earlier this year, Kevin joined his fellow Philadelphia native star, Will Smith, on “The Red Table Talk.” He opened up about his spectacular relationship with his teenage daughter, Heaven.
The “Fatherhood” actor made it known that he used to pride himself as someone capable of being unbothered no matter the criticism thrown his way. However, Kevin would come to realize that Heaven was his weakness.
The celebrity dad relayed that the youngster could bring him down from his high horse and point out his lapses. He shared that there was a different chord of emotions that no other person but Heaven had the ability to pull.
Heaven is “Tough On” her Daddy
The “Think Like A Man” actor laid it bare as he talked about the rocky moments between him and Heaven after his infidelity scandal came to light. The actor cheated on his wife, Eniko Hart, and it made headlines for weeks.
Kevin worked hard to show his family that he was sorry for the public misconduct, but he admitted that mending the rift with Heaven was the most challenging part. The actor told Smith:
“When your child shows disappointment – you don’t realize the impact that your mistakes can truly have. My daughter was tough on me. Until this day, she’s tough on me.”
The “Celebrity Game Face” host recalled the conversation he had with Heaven. He shared that it was difficult for him to explain what he did wrong and also convince her and the other kids that he was sorry.
Daddy-Daughter Moments
Despite the fallout with Heaven, Kevin enjoys warm father-daughter moments that are enviable. The pair play pranks on each other, and Heaven has shown that she has her dad’s comic streak.
In one of his Instagram posts, the award-winning comedian displayed how he pranked Heaven. In the clip, Kevin sneaked up behind her and pushed her into the pool. He let fans know that the hilarious clip was payback.
When the pair are not playing pranks, life lessons come in. Back in July, the 42-year-old shared a video of him teaching the 13-year-old how to drive. The clip displayed how Heaven paid attention and made her dad proud.
Heaven has three younger siblings, Hendrix, Kenzo, and Kaori. Kevin welcomed the two oldest, Heaven and Hendrix, with his first wife, Torrei Hart, while he shares the younger kids with Eniko.
