Fans have just gotten their first look at Alec and Hilaria Baldwin’s upcoming TLC reality show and the trailer saw the actor in tears. The TLC show, which was announced in June 2024, will document their “crazy” family’s life.
Alec Baldwin hinted on Kelly Ripa’s “Let’s Talk Off Camera” podcast in November 2023 that they were pitching the idea so he could “just work from home.”
Trailer Shows Alec Baldwin In Tears
The first trailer for Alec’s reality TV show with his wife is out, and fans caught a glance of the actor in tears. After he and his wife made jokes about their “wild family” of “seven children, six animals [and] two parents,” the couple addressed the actor’s fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the “Rust” set in 2021.

“A son lost his mom in the most unthinkable tragedy,” Hilaria, 41, says in Monday’s trailer. “This is never something to forget, and we are trying to parent through it.” While she spoke, Alec, 66, is shown covering his face and seemingly in tears.
“Honestly, from the bottom of my soul, I don’t know where I’d be if I didn’t have you and these kids,” he tells his wife in one emotional clip. As footage plays of the pair tending to their kids — Carmen, 11, Rafael, 9, Leonardo, 8, Romeo, 6, Eduardo, 4, María, 3, and Ilaria, 2 — and seeking therapy, Hilaria acknowledges their “bad moments.”
However, she also adds, “We’ve found our foundation. We’re solid, and we’re here together.” “The Baldwins” premieres Sunday, February 23, at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
Who Is Alec Baldwin’s Wife?
Alec Baldwin is currently married to Hilaria Baldwin and has been since 2012. She is a former yoga instructor, entrepreneur, podcaster, and author.
Prior to dating her, Alec was married to model Kim Basinger, with whom he shares 29-year-old daughter Ireland Baldwin. Alec and Hilaria met in February 2011 at a restaurant in New York City. He proposed to her in April 2012 at a lighthouse in East Hampton, New York, and they married on June 30, 2012, at St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral in New York City.
Why Are They Suing Alec Baldwin?
The Oscar nominee was charged with involuntary manslaughter in January 2023 for fatally shooting 42-year-old Hutchins with a prop gun.
The shooting occurred on October 21, 2021, during a rehearsal on the set of the film “Rust,” resulting in the death of Halyna Hutchins. The incident led to a series of legal actions, starting with charges against Alec Baldwin in January 2023, which were later dismissed in July 2024.
Through it all, his wife, Hilaria, remained by his side, a constant source of support. She has made rare comments about the tragedy over the years, getting emotional in a December 2022 interview.
“We’re not OK,” she said at the time. “We can’t be OK. No one’s OK.” On his part, Alec told ABC News the previous year that he “would go to any lengths to undo what happened.” While visibly upset, he noted, “I want to make sure that I don’t come across like I’m the victim.”

The involuntary manslaughter case against Alec Baldwin was dismissed in July 2024 due to prosecutorial misconduct.

The dismissal happened because they found out that police and prosecutors failed to disclose evidence related to live ammunition found on the set, which could have impacted Alec Baldwin’s defense.
Despite the dismissal, the charges were refiled before being dismissed again mid-trial last year. Since the case was dismissed with prejudice, it cannot be reopened or retried. This effectively ends Alec Baldwin’s criminal liability in the matter.
