Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit is an attempt to set things right after Blake Lively accused him of subjecting her to “sexually inappropriate behavior” on the set of their 2024 film, “It Ends With Us.” He promised to sue her to oblivion earlier this month. But back then, Baldoni would not share details, only outrightly denying her claim.
Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit was filed in New York against Blake Lively. In it, the director makes some pretty interesting claims, and words like “tormented” and “scapegoat” even made appearances. But that’s not the wildest part.
What We Know About Justin Baldoni’s Lawsuit
Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit alleges Lively “tormented” him, his family, and his partners, wrongly accused him of sexually harassing her and used him as a “scapegoat” to avoid the negative press surrounding her.
Baldoni also claims that she “calculatingly devised” fake stories to destroy his reputation and livelihood. He alleged that she seized control of the film he was directing and is out to end his career and Wayfarer Studios “if they did not bend to her incessant demands.”

What Happened With Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively?
There are rumors the feud between Lively and Baldoni started when they collaborated on “It Ends With Us.” Rumors of the rift started to emerge as the movie was about to be released. They were fueled during the film’s press tour when Lively seemingly avoided mentioning Baldoni in interviews.
Speculation claimed there were disputes over creative control. But some sources claimed Baldoni had “fat-shamed” Lively by inquiring about her weight and telling an on-set trainer he wanted to avoid injury while lifting her in the movie.
There is also the fact that Baldoni and Lively were never photographed together while promoting “It Ends With Us.” And as rumors of a feud grew, Baldoni hired Melissa Nathan, a crisis PR manager famous for representing Johnny Depp in his defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard.
According to texts between them, Nathan suggested a full-on smear campaign and using the media to ruin her image. Lively said the alleged smear campaign has been a source of “severe emotional distress” for her and her family. She also alleged it was what forced her to back out of hosting the “Saturday Night Live” season 50 premiere.
Justin Baldoni’s Lawsuit Comes Almost A Month After Lively Fired the First Shot
The legal tussle started on December 20, 2024, when Lively filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department. In it, she claimed Baldoni invaded her privacy by “entering her makeup trailer uninvited while she was undressed.”
She also alleged that he pressured her to lose weight four months after giving birth and coordinated a PR campaign to ruin her reputation. In the days that followed, Baldoni was dropped by his talent agency. Vital Voices, a nonprofit that focuses on empowering women, also took back an award it gave to him.
On December 31, 2024, things got more serious when Lively formally filed a lawsuit in New York federal court against Baldoni, his publicist, Wayfarer Studios, and other defendants. In the lawsuit, she accused them of “retaliating against her for reporting sexual harassment and workplace safety concerns.”

What Does Ryan Reynolds Think About the Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni Feud?
Ryan Reynolds has been mostly quiet amidst all the drama involving Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit against his wife. But there is no mistake about where he stands. Already we know the movie mogul blocked Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, on Instagram because Baldoni was very upset about it.
We also know that Reynolds has been a staunch supporter of his wife through it all and is on the same page with her regarding her accusations. He is now properly involved as Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit names him among the accused, even though many are not sure why.
