Jamie Foxx’s birthday altercation has gone viral, forcing him to reassure his fans that all is well. The talented actor was allegedly hit by flying glass during the altercation that went down at a Los Angeles restaurant as he celebrated his 57th birthday.
He took to Instagram on Sunday to address the dispute and reassure his fans that the accident with the glass was nothing too serious.
“The devil is busy … but I’m too blessed to be stressed,” he wrote. “The devil is a lie. Can’t win here … thank you to everybody that pray [sic] and check [sic] on me … when your light is shining bright … they try to bring you darkness. But they don’t know that you’re built for it … the lights have been shining bright.”
The “Dreamgirls” alum also thanked his fans for watching his newly released Netflix special, “What Had Happened Was.” The show, which he says comes from his heart and soul, is now number one on the streaming platform.

What Happened at Jamie Foxx’s Birthday Party?
Jamie Foxx’s birthday altercation saw him end up in stitches. According to what a spokesperson for Foxx told Page Six on Saturday, December 14, he was having fun at Mr. Chow the night before when “someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth.”
“He had to get stitches and is recovering,” his rep revealed. “The police were called, and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands.” Cops arrived at the scene shortly after 10 p.m. local time after receiving a call about assault with a deadly weapon, per a Beverly Hills Police Department press release.
The police department has stated that the claim he was assaulted with a deadly weapon was “unfounded.” However, they confirmed a physical dispute “between parties.” While no arrests were made, the investigation is ongoing.
According to an eyewitness account, customers were “being rude and vulgar” to Foxx. However, rather than make a big deal out of it, the singer asked them to leave him alone because he was with his family.
According to the source, it was at that moment that someone “allegedly threw the glass that hit [Foxx] in the face.”
Prior to the incident, Foxx was seen signing autographs outside the celebrity hotspot and talking to photographers. He told them how thankful he was to be alive after suffering from a near-death experience last year. Foxx opened up about the health scare days before on his Netflix special.
The Altercation Comes Months After He Addressed His Health Scare
The “Just Like Me” crooner revealed that he was hospitalized in April 2023 after having a brain bleed that led to a stroke. According to Foxx, a few of the weeks he spent in the hospital were lost to him as he couldn’t recall them, and doctors could not locate the root of the brain bleed.
“We still don’t know exactly what happened to me,” he said during his emotional speech. “All I can tell you is that I appreciate every prayer because I needed every prayer.” On the topic of what caused the bleed, Foxx thinks it may have had something to do with a “bad headache” he treated by visiting a doctor in Georgia.
The actor said that all the doctor gave him was a cortisone shot before sending him on his merry way. “What the f–k is that?” the “Back in Action” star asked. “I don’t know if you can do Yelps for doctors, but that’s half a star.”

Foxx’s sister, Deidra Dixon, later took him to Piedmont Hospital, where he claims the “angel” staff “saved [his] life” and “put [him] back together again.”
