Queen Camilla’s arrangements for the state visit are being modified. As she is still recuperating from a chest infection, she is changing her plans for the upcoming state visit to Qatar. On December 2, the palace announced that the 77-year-old Queen would no longer attend the December 3 ceremonial start of the Qatari state visit to the United Kingdom.
King Charles’ wife is known to have decreased energy levels and to be dealing with the aftereffects of the chest infection that Buckingham Palace reported on November 5.
It is a departure from Queen Camilla’s initial intentions, but it is thought that her diagnosis and treatment have not changed since news broke about her chest infection in early November. State visits are notorious for hectic schedules, and the Queen is just taking more time to rest.
Though Queen Camilla is not expected to make any more changes to her schedule in light of the current health announcement, it is assumed that she will take each day as it comes, following physicians’ recommendations.

Camilla supported her husband both behind the scenes and in public as he battled cancer. She stepped up to handle Charles’ engagements while ensuring his treatment and recuperation continued.
However, the king and queen consort faced difficulties during this period. Friends claim Camilla was overburdened during Charles’ health issues. The Daily Beast quoted a friend of the family who mentioned that at 77, it was too much to ask for Camilla to be sent to the other side of the world to shake hands with thousands of people while her husband had cancer.
The friend also indicated that Camilla got pneumonia as a result and expressed hope that the mandarins would take notice.
