President Joe Biden had some unusual advice for Democratic donors at the White House. “Good evening, everyone … If you have a seat, please take it. Don’t jump in the pool!” he joked. Biden was hosting the donors and party insiders to a farewell party in appreciation for their support towards the just concluded election.
But Kamala Harris was noticeably absent from the Joe Biden White House bash. The presidential elections have been lost and won, but many Democratic donors are still reeling from the unexpected defeat.
Kamala Harris trailed President-Elect Donald Trump by far, both in the popular vote and in the electoral college. In addition, there is a lot of disappointment over Harris’ management of campaign funds. This party was aimed at calming nerves.
To achieve this, Biden thought an invitation to party at the White House would go a long way. Addressing the guests at the White House South Lawn, the president thanked them for putting their money where their mouth is regarding the campaign. He drew lots of smiles and laughter as he spoke from near the pool and fountain.
“Jill and I are hosting this dinner tonight for a very simple reason — to say thank you. Thank you to so many dear friends,” he said. Biden was supposed to be the beneficiary of the donor’s benevolence before he stepped aside from the race following a less-than-impressive debate performance.
Subsequently, he gave all his backing to his replacement, Vice President Kamala Harris, who did not attend the party. Reports also show that some big donors didn’t grace the event. Aside from some donors, the other guests at the Joe Biden White House bash were inner circle.

Who Attended Joe Biden’s White House Bash?
Notable attendees included Democratic presidential running mate and Minnesota governor Tim Walz and his wife, Gwen. Of course, Biden administration officials and friends of the administration were overwhelmingly in attendance.
At one point, Walz and Gwen were seen speaking with Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo. However, many top donors were absent. The Joe Biden White House bash also had present and former ambassadors in attendance. But many invitees were nowhere to be found. According to a source, the absent guests were mostly donors who gave over $250,000 to the campaign.
According to reports, some of the absent donors hadn’t gotten over the party’s embarrassing loss at the polls. Sources said some of the donors didn’t want to be associated with the Democrats for now, calling the event a “losers’ party.”
Some others are still upset with what many believe is Harris’ poor handling of campaign funds. Kamala Harris’ campaign spending came under the spotlight immediately after her election loss. Reports emerged that she spent a whopping $1 billion plus on the election. Worse still, she ended up in debt of up to $20 million.
The New York Times even stated a higher figure than many thought. In a November 17 article, the paper alleged that she “burned through $1.5 billion in 15 weeks.” She lost all the battleground states to Donald Trump “despite her significant financial advantage.”
However, her campaign has denied the widely circulated report. In a statement from Patrick Stauffer, chief financial officer of the Kamala Harris campaign, the reports aren’t accurate. “As of Election Day, there were no outstanding debts or bills overdue, and there will be no debt on either the DNC or HFP report for post general report,” he stated.
A Donor Described the Joe Biden White House Bash as a “Love Fest”
For many donors, however, the party was a necessary retreat. One that was needed to refresh the minds of Democratic party supporters. A source said that the Joe Biden White House bash was surprisingly fun.
One donor called it “absolutely gorgeous” and a “love fest.” Aside from the amazing music from multiple live bands, Biden had some inspiring and reassuring words to light up weary hearts. “We began this journey to redeem the soul of the nation and define the light in the darkness,” he continued.
“And I never could have gotten to where the White House has become without you and we never could have gotten as much done as we did without you. And that’s not hyperbole. I mean it from the bottom of my heart,” the president said.
Was Donald Trump at Biden’s White House Party?
The incoming 47th president of the United States, Donald Trump didn’t attend the event. He wasn’t invited and would most likely have shunned the event if he had.
Although Joe Biden and Trump seemed unbelievably friendly when they met at the White House just days after Trump was declared winner, Donald Trump’s wife, Melania, and Jill Biden don’t share the same cordiality. Melania Trump declined an invitation to meet Jill at the White House.
A statement by Melania’s team said, “Mrs. Trump will not be attending today’s meeting at the White House. Her husband’s return to the Oval Office to commence the transition process is encouraging, and she wishes him great success.”
A source stated that Melania was still livid over the Biden-ordered FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. “Jill Biden’s husband authorized the FBI snooping through her underwear drawer. The Bidens are disgusting,” the source stated. “Jill Biden isn’t someone Melania needs to meet,” the source added.
