Teddi Mellencamp’s affair had something to do with her split from Edwin Arroyave. There is now no doubt about this, as Mellencamp took “accountability” for her role in their divorce after announcing their split.
The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star said she’s “cried and mourned” and “apologized” for any wrongdoing since her affair with the married horse trainer came to light.
“The only person who can change your life is you. We have two options: pretend to be a victim or stand up and fight for yourself. We all deserve peace and happiness,” Mellencamp wrote in an Instagram post attached to a video of herself working out on Sunday, November 24.
“I have cried and mourned. I have taken accountability and apologized for things I have done wrong. Now, I have given myself permission to grow and thrive,” she added.

Earlier this month, a source with direct knowledge informed Page Six about Teddi Mellencamp’s affair with her married horse trainer, Simon Schroeder. The 43-year-old mom of three allegedly cheated on Arroyave, 47, multiple times beginning in May.
Never mind that Mellencamp was also close friends with the trainer’s wife, Karli Postel. A source says that she and Schroeder spent time in Florida together for an equestrian event while Postel was in California in labor with their second child.
The insider also claimed that upon Schroeder’s return to LA, Postel discovered inappropriate text messages between her husband and Mellencamp, resulting in a heated public confrontation.
“They confessed. Teddi promised it would not happen again,” a source told the Daily Mail, adding that “Karli didn’t tell Edwin when she found out” because “she was willing to give Simon another chance.”
It was not until last month that Postel found out that Schroeder and Teddi Mellencamp’s affair had not only continued but also became “emotional,” so she informed Arroyave. The insider insisted that Mellencamp’s alleged sexual relationship with the trainer was what caused her divorce from Arroyave.

Teddi Mellencamp filed for divorce on November 1 after over a decade of marriage. She wants primary legal and physical custody of their three children — Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, 4 — and wants Arroyave to have “reasonable and frequent” visitation.
While the mother of three has apologized for her past practices, it is clear that she has no plans to try to salvage her marriage, so the divorce is ongoing.
