On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Trump visited the White House to meet with Biden as part of the transition process. According to Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, the two-hour discussion between Trump and Biden was meaningful.
Jean-Pierre stated that Trump and Biden had discussed domestic policy and national security issues. In addition, Jean-Pierre revealed that Biden brought up important things on Congress’ to-do list. When Trump arrived at the White House, he and Biden shook hands at the start of the brief interaction with reporters.

On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Biden and Trump met in Washington, DC, to discuss a smooth transition of power. Speaking at Trump’s arrival, Biden said, “Well, Mr. President-elect and former president, Donald, congratulations, and looking forward to having, like we said, a smooth transition. Welcome, welcome back.”
Biden went on to assure Trump that his administration would meet his requirements. In response to Biden’s assurance and welcome, Trump said, “Thank you very much, and politics is tough, and it’s, many cases, not a very nice world, but it is a nice world today, and I appreciate very much a transition that’s so smooth, it’ll be as smooth as it can get.” Biden responded, “You’re welcome.”

Did Trump and Biden Meet at the White House?
Following his arrival at the White House at around 11 a.m. ET, Trump addressed House Republicans before the meeting started. During their brief meeting with the press, some questions were shot at Trump and Biden, which they both ignored.
According to the White House, Susie Wiles and Biden’s chief of staff, Jeff Zients, attended the meeting. Before their November 2024 meeting, Trump and Biden last met in person during the June 2024 debate. During the debate, Biden described Trump as a convicted felon who had the morals of an alleycat.

Even though first ladies often meet, Melania Trump will not meet with Jill Biden. In a statement released by her office, “Mrs. Trump will not be attending today’s meeting at the White House. Her husband’s return to the Oval Office to commence the transition process is encouraging, and she wishes him great success.”

Following Trump’s arrival at the House Republican conference meeting, he was met with a standing ovation.
Trump received the ovation after claiming his team had assisted them in winning their seats, just as they had helped him win the presidency. Addressing the House Republican after the press left, Trump said, “I suspect I won’t be running again unless you do something else; unless you say he’s so good, we’ve got to figure something out.”
