The Gallaghers will always be together!
“Shameless,” Showtime’s longest-running drama, featured a strong and amusing ensemble from its premiere in 2011 to its series end in 2021. The dramedy ended its 10-year run in April 2021, but the Gallagher family’s antics will live on in the hearts of viewers.
Based on the British television program of the same name, “Shameless” began on Showtime in January 2011. William H. Macy starred as the family patriarch, Frank Gallagher. As Frank battled alcohol and drug addictions, he relied on his six children to provide for him and their siblings.
Three years after the show ended, here is what the “Shameless” cast is up to now.
Emmy Rossum as Fiona Gallagher
Emmy Rossum starred as Fiona, the oldest of the five Gallagher children from Chicago’s South Side, for nine seasons. The actress’s tough, mother-figure role faced every hurdle her dysfunctional family threw at her while working odd jobs to support her siblings.

Jeremy Allen White as Lip Gallagher
White played Lip, a fan favorite and second-in-command, for all 11 seasons. Since the show’s premiere in 2011, the star has appeared in “The Time Being” (2012), “Bad Turn Worse” (2013), “The Rental” (2020), “The Birthday Cake” (2021), and a number of short films.
He later appeared on Hulu’s series “The Bear.”
William H. Macy as Frank Gallagher
Prior to his role as Frank, an alcoholic absentee father who frequently serves as the family’s constant headache, Macy had a successful profession. In 1997, he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his work as Jerry Lundegaard in “Fargo.”
Before starring in all eleven seasons of “Shameless,” Macy appeared in “Boogie Nights” (1997) and “Pleasantville” (1998). Since the premiere of “Shameless” in 2011, Macy has been in a number of films and TV episodes, including “The Sessions” (2012), “Cake” (2014), “Room” (2015), Hulu’s “The Dropout”, and ABC’s “The Conners.”
Steve Howey as Kevin Ball
Howey portrays Kevin Ball, the Gallagher family’s amicable buddy, and bartender at Frank‘s favorite neighborhood tavern.

After “Shameless” ended, Howey was cast as the lead in the CBS relaunch “True Lies,” which is based on the 1994 blockbuster film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Shanola Hampton as Veronica Fisher
Shanola Hampton, who has appeared in recurring parts on “Related” and “Miami Medical,” plays Kevin‘s intelligent and beautiful wife Veronica on “Shameless.” Hampton also starred in the 2021 film “Deadly Illusions”.
She was also cast in the NBC comedy pilot “Night School,” which is based on the 2018 film starring Tiffany Haddish and Kevin Hart. However, Variety reports that the pilot was canceled before filming.
Ethan Cutkosky as Carl Gallagher
Cutkosky had already worked in print ads and commercials, as well as a brief role in 2007’s Fred Claus. This was before getting the role of Carl, the Gallagher family’s delinquent who cares profoundly for his siblings, at the age of 11.
Outside of the program, the actor participated in Vic Mensa’s “OMG” video in 2017 and as young Tommy Egan on the Starz series “Power.” He also appears in the 2022 film “Alex/October” and an episode of “The Conners.”
Emma Kenney as Debbie Gallagher
Debbie, played by Kenney, has matured from the scrappy little sister to shocking audiences as she becomes more like Frank than fans expected.
Kenney has also been on “The Conners” as Harris Conner-Healy and in the animated feature “My Love Affair with Marriage” (2022). Kenney has also appeared in the films “Robert the Bruce” (2019), “Back to Lyla” (2022), and “Murder in Yellowstone City” (2022).
