Apple recently introduced an iPhone with generative AI capabilities. On Monday, September 9, the technology behemoth Apple held a special event titled “It’s Glowtime.” The event took place at 10 a.m. PT in the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park and was webcast live online.
During its annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June, Apple unveiled a plethora of generative AI tools for the iPhone. The company presented the first wave of tools powered by “Apple Intelligence”.
It ranges from personalized Genmoji — Apple’s AI-generated emoji — to a substantially wiser Siri, which can answer queries about your schedule, what’s in your email, and when your loved one’s aircraft is landing.

Apple Intelligence opens up new opportunities for consumers to improve their writing. Users can revise, proofread, and summarize content almost anywhere they write, including Mail, Notes, Pages, and third-party apps, thanks to iOS 18’s systemwide Writing Tools.
Users can also record, transcribe, and summarize audio using the Notes and Phone apps. When a recording is started while on a call using the phone app, participants are automatically notified, and once the call is over, Apple Intelligence creates a summary to help them remember key aspects.
Apple Intelligence uses Private Cloud Compute to protect user data’s privacy and security. This ground-breaking technique allows you to flex and scale computing power between on-device processing and larger, server-based models that operate on dedicated Apple silicon servers, which is a huge step forward for privacy in artificial intelligence.
Apple Intelligence will be accessible as a free software update, with the first set of features becoming available next month in U.S. English for most locations worldwide.
