Miss Mississippi Addie Carver has been crowned Miss Teen USA 2024. Carver fills the position that had been vacant since the extremely controversial departure of the previous winner in May.
The 17-year-old dance instructor, cheerleader, and choreographer won the title at a glamorous Los Angeles ceremony. According to the organizers, this will end a turbulent three months for the competition and its sister event, Miss USA.
Addie Carver disclosed to the judges her past difficulties with mental health before accepting the tiara. Saying, “As the next Miss Teen USA, I want to make it my mission to know that every little girl who is just like me once is never alone to that end.”
Ava Colindres of Georgia and Rachael McLaen of Arizona were ranked first and second, respectively.
Addie Carver Wins the Crown
Addie Carver emerged victorious from a field of fifty contestants to be crowned Miss Teen USA 2024 on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. Olivia Travis of West Virginia and Townsend Blackwell of Tennessee completed the top five.
“One month ago today, after countless years of hearing ‘No,’ I finally got the ‘Yes’ that I’ve been dreaming of,” Addie Carver posted on Instagram following her April title as Miss Mississippi Teen USA.

“My journey to this moment has been long, but it’s been so incredibly worth it! There are no words to describe how much achieving this goal means to me. But more than anything, I am grateful, and I am READY,” she added.
“Getting the opportunity to serve my state & represent it at Miss Teen USA is truly the biggest honor of my life. TYJ,” she continued
Addie Carver’s Bio
Addie Carver was born in Brookhaven, Mississippi. Her bio as Miss Mississippi USA states that she discovered dance to be a “safe space” for her after her father passed away when she was 13 years old. She wishes to encourage others to pursue talents that might help them overcome obstacles in life. She also leads the varsity cheer squad.
The pageant featured a variety of judges, including actress Francia Raísa, professional dancer Rylee Arnold from “Dancing With the Stars,” influencer Alyssa Carson, Miss Teen USA 2019 Kaliegh Garris, and Miss World 2022 Shree Saini.
It was hosted by Rachel Lindsay, an alumna of “The Bachelorette,” and E! News reporter Justin Sylvester.

Noelia Voight and UmaSofia Srivastava’s Resignation From the Pageant
The shocking double resignation that occurred this year, which saw Utah’s Noelia Voigt and New Jersey’s UmaSofia Srivastava become the first champions of either competition to ever renounce their titles, was not specifically mentioned in the finals.
While Srivastava explained Voigt’s choice as a conflict between her “personal values” and the Miss USA organization, Voigt first gave the excuse of mental health issues. However, later on, several concerns of the organizers surfaced.
One noteworthy alteration to the events was signaled by the controversy. Contrary to years of custom, Hawaii’s Savannah Gankiewicz, who succeeded Voigt as Miss USA, gave Addie Carver her tiara instead of the previous year’s winner.
Noelia Voigt Resigned Due to Personal Reasons
When Noelia Voigt resigned in May, the Miss USA organization, which runs both pageants, was in turmoil. Internet commenters noticed that Voigt spelled “I am silenced” with the first letter of each phrase in her mysterious resignation post on Instagram.
Although she did not elaborate at the time. This observation led to speculation that a non-disclosure agreement was preventing Voigt from speaking. According to reports, she included a long list of grievances against the organizers in her resignation letter.

She said that there were “toxic work environments” where “at best, there is poor management, and at worst, there is bullying and harassment,” as well as delays in award distribution.
Furthermore, she stated that because the organization did not offer an “effective handler,” someone sexually harassed her at a public appearance. Following suit a few days later, Addie Carver’s predecessor, Srivastava, resigned as Miss Teen USA.
She cited a change in her convictions that “no longer fully align with the direction of the organization.” She hasn’t made any further public statements. But her mother, Barbara Srivastava, said on Good Morning America that the beauty queens had been “ill-treated, abused, bullied and cornered.”
She also said that “the job of their dreams turned out to be a nightmare.” Addie Carver, on the other hand, seems to be reeling in the joy that comes with winning the crown. Fans can’t wait to see what’s next for her.
