Cameron Mathison Speaks on Marriage Struggles
In June 2024, Cameron Mathison appeared on Cheryl Burke’s podcast, where he spoke about a marriage struggle he and Vanessa faced in the past. Additionally, he admitted that when he was offered the chance to contest on “Dancing With the Stars,” he was concerned about having to work with a professional like Edyta Śliwińska.
“I called [the casting director], and I said, ‘Listen, I’m so happy that you’ve offered me the show. I can’t wait. I’m in. Just do me a favor,'” Cameron said. “‘Put me with anybody but Edyta.’ Because I knew my wife and I, we were going through a little bit of a challenge at that time.”
Going further, Cameron joked about Śliwińska not wearing much clothing. Although Śliwińska ended up dancing with Vanessa, they went on to become very intimate friends. Cameron said Vanessa was a trooper, and their marriage was facing a challenge, so it was not great timing.
He added that he was in LA, where he spent hours rehearsing and doing press with a beautiful woman, which was challenging. Cameron continued, “I tried. I did everything in my power to make that as easy for her as possible, but it just is what it is”
He added, “I mean, you can be married and do the show, obviously, but it can be, depending on the circumstances; it’s just really hard.”
Cameron Mathison On His Kids
In May 2024, Cameron revealed more about his children’s upbringing. He said it was hard watching Leila leave for college with his son having been to college. He added, “It’s the best thing in the world, but at the same time, I don’t think I’m ready.”
“I mean, you think you are. You’re like, ‘Oh, it’s going to be awesome,’ but I’m going to miss them,” he added. In a recent interview, Cameron spoke about some upcoming changes. These changes include having to live in an empty house as Leila was leaving for college in September 2024.
Hours before his divorce announcement, Cameron Mathison posted a photo dump of what he did with his kids over the summer. He captioned the images, “Last few weeks before I’m an official empty nester.”
