Elon Musk has announced his intention to ban all Apple devices from his companies following the tech’s giant announcement. Apple had stated its intention to integrate OpenAI technology with its devices.
On Monday, June 10, 2024, Apple CEO Tim Cook, made several announcements during his speech at the company’s annual developer conference. However, the announcement that stood out was Apple’s intention to integrate Siri with ChatGPT. Cook had stated that Siri would be able to hand off some questions from users to the AI.
In reaction to the announcement, Musk claimed that such integration would be an unacceptable security breach. Musk said that should Apple decide to go with its plans, he would ensure that its devices were no longer allowed in his company.
Musk stated that guests on his company grounds with Apple devices would have to check them in at the door. He stated that the device would be kept in a Faraday cage, which disrupts wireless signals. It is expected that Musk’s decision would affect employees of SpaceX, Tesla, and X. Musk took to his social media platform, X, to express his disapproval.
