Actress Valerie Bertinelli confirms she’s dating someone new!
“I’ve met someone. And I’m incredibly grateful for him,” the actress and cooking star said in an interview on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. While discussing her new cookbook, “Indulge,” coming out on April 2, she opened up about her new relationship.
“It’s unlike any relationship that I’ve ever experienced with a man,” she said. “I don’t want to say too much, but I feel incredibly blessed and lucky to have met him because I wasn’t expecting it!” Valerie Bertinelli also noted that the relationship happened out of the blue.
“He was not on my radar. I was going to die with my six cats and dog and be incredibly happy doing it,” Bertinelli said. “So this came out of left field, and I’m grateful it did. He’s very special.”
Before she announced her new relationship, the renowned actress and author was married to businessman Tom Vitale. However, the two parted ways in 2022 after nearly eleven years of marriage. The former couple met after Bertinelli divorced her first husband.

Before Vitale, Bertinelli was with late rock star Eddie Van Halen, with whom she shares her son, Wolfgang Van Halen. Bertinelli and Vitale dated for six years before their engagement in 2010. “I could have spent the rest of my life with Tom and not be married,” the “Hot in Cleveland” star said at the time.
“But I wanted to call him ‘my husband.'” She added, “I really wanted to share how I feel about Tom with the people I love.” The then-couple eventually tied the knot at their Malibu, California, home on New Year’s Day in 2011. During their 10-year marriage, Valerie Bertinelli and Vitale co-founded the internet startup Veebow.
Vitale also appeared on “Hot in Cleveland” and “Valerie’s Home Cooking.” Unfortunately, their love came crashing down when Bertinelli filed for legal separation from Vitale in November 2021. According to court documents, the actress and author cited “irreconcilable differences.”

Afterward, she amended her petition to ask for a divorce in May 2022 and finalized it in November 2022. From their surprise wedding to difficult divorce proceedings, Valerie Bertinelli and Tom Vitale’s relationship ended.
On Monday, March 11, 2024, Bertinelli shared an old video to her Instagram Stories. She captioned it, “When someone asks if I’ll start dating again soon,” in which she adamantly shakes her head and mouths, “Yeah, no.” In the repost, she added, “This didn’t age well.”
The stunning actress can’t believe she went public with the relationship. “What was I doing? … I just can’t help it,” she said. “When I’m flipping happy, it’s all over me, and he’s one of the main reasons.” Speaking about the relationship, Bertinelli noted that it happened at the perfect time.

“This would not have happened three years ago, four years ago, last year, it wouldn’t have,” she said. “And I feel incredibly lucky to have met him and made a connection with him.” Furthermore, the stunning actress noted how much work she had to put into improving.
“I really want women and men to take away that it’s the work that you do (on yourself),” she said. “That can lead you to meeting someone like I’ve been lucky enough to meet right now.”
