Cody Heron, a 26-year-old motorcyclist from Philadelphia, has pleaded guilty to a shocking assault on a woman that occurred in October 2023. The incident gained national attention after a video of the attack in Center City went viral.
The attack shocked people across the country and drew rebukes from city officials when a video of the altercation filmed by a man riding a double-decker bus went viral after it was posted on social media. Heron was one of a crowd of ATV and dirt bike riders who had gathered near City Hall and surrounded Bullock’s Ford Fusion.
The video shows Heron getting off his bike, climbing onto the back of Bullock’s car, and jumping on the rear windshield, shattering it and sending pieces of glass into the vehicle. Heron faced charges of aggravated assault and possession of an instrument of crime.
He admitted to stomping on the back windshield of Nikki Bullock’s car and pointing a gun at her while her children, ages two and five, were in the car. Philadelphia Assistant District Attorney Fernanda Sandoval confirmed Heron’s guilty plea, stating that he also tried to cover up his crimes through text messages.

According to Sandoval, the altercation began when Heron sideswiped Bullock’s driver’s side door at a stop light near City Hall. Heron then escalated the situation by jumping on the back of Bullock’s car, breaking the windshield, and endangering her children.
During the confrontation, Heron’s gun fell from his waistband, prompting him to brandish it at Bullock before headbutting and shoving her. Remarkably, no one was physically harmed in the incident.
“The kids were screaming. Like it was insane,” Bullock recounted to local media outlets. “The only thing that protected my kids from not having a bunch of glass shattering on top of them is that my back windshield was tinted.”

Heron’s arrest came after his employer tipped off the police, leading them to his motorcycle outside his home in Philadelphia’s Frankford neighborhood. He was initially booked on a $2.5 million bail, which later increased to $4 million.
Fritze said the office’s prosecution of Heron was a message to dirt bike riders who often congregate throughout the city in unauthorized meetups in which people driving cars, ATVs, and dirt bikes gather in city streets and sometimes sidewalks, constantly weaving in and out of traffic.

“This is a shot over the bow to the dirt bike riders in the city that we are done with dirt bikes,” he said. “We’re going to do everything we can to prosecute when these cases are brought to us.”
Bullock, who was delivering for Uber Eats at the time of the assault, emphasized her relief that her children emerged physically unscathed. “There’s not a scratch on them,” she stated. “It was just that I had kids in the car. I just wanted to protect them, honestly.”
Cody Heron is scheduled to appear in court for sentencing on June 5, where he will face the consequences of his actions.
