Fans get to see all the glitz and glamor that comes with being a celebrity and also wish for it. However, there was a time where many of these stars worked odd jobs to pay their bills.
More often than not, celebrities start out as regular people with regular and even odd jobs. Many had to pay multiple bills on their way to stardom, and they could only do so by applying for the available jobs.
It is worthy of note that behind all that fame and fortune, there were times of humble beginnings. Check out some celebrities who had initial career paths different from their present crafts.
Pierce Brosnan
First on the list is action film icon Pierce Brosnan. Brosnan has always been a showman, although it was in different spheres. Before he picked up the mantle of acting as James Bond, he was first a fire eater.
The 68-year-old actor worked at a circus for three years, with which he impressed the audience with abilities to eat fire—Brosnan learned from a skilled performer in 1969.
Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian has gone beyond being a TV personality. The star is a multi-faceted businesswoman whose brand extends to self-care, skincare, fashion, and beauty.
However, 15 years ago, Kardashian was only a stylist working from her friend, Paris Hilton. The KKW Beauty founder also worked as Hilton’s professional closet organizer.
Nicole Kidman
There was a time in the life of Nicole Kidman when all she dreamed of was being a massage therapist. The A-list actress was quite motivated to go on that path because of her mother.
Kidman once recalled watching her mom endure breast cancer, which prompted her to take a course in massage therapy. Kidman’s family could not afford the money for massage sessions after her mom’s chemotherapy sessions.
She completed the course and started administering all she learned to her mom. Then, because Kidman enjoyed it so much, she rendered her services to more people.
Brad Pitt
The Oscar-winning actor’s humble beginnings saw him landing his first job in Hollywood as restaurant staff. Pitt worked at the El Pollo Loco chicken restaurant as the chicken mascot who attracted prospective customers.

Megan Fox
Just like Pitt Fix landed the gig of a mascot, only this time, she wore a giant banana mascot for a Smoothie Shop in Florida. The actress once explained that she and other employees would dress as a piece of fruit and stand on the highway to get customers.
Hugh Jackman
Hugh Jackman has made a name for himself in Hollywood, taking up memorable roles in movies like “X-Men” and “The Greatest Showman.” However, the star began his entertainment career as a clown at children’s parties.
The actor has shared evidence of his clowning days on social media during a throwback moment. Jackman also worked as a physical education teacher at a high school.
Whoopi Goldberg
Whoopi Goldberg has come a long way with her entertainment career, becoming an iconic actress and an EGOT actress. However, Goldberg’s struggling days saw her become a beautician at a morgue.
The star said in a 2015 interview that it took guts and empathy to do the job. The actress noted that one had to be a compassionate person. The 65-year-old recalled being spooked a few times, but she eventually got over her fears.
Zayn Malik
Malik burst into the music scene in 2010 following his X-Factor audition, and he has since belted out classics like “Dusk Till Dawn” and “Still Got Time.” However, years before he became known, Malik was a boxer. He stayed in the profession from when he was 15 to when he was 17.
