Popular rapper and businessman 50 Cent is under intense backlash following his Capitol visit. The rapper had uploaded a picture of himself and Republican representative Lauren Boebert inside the Capitol Building.

On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, Curtis Jackson III, more commonly known by his stage name, 50 Cent, was at Capitol Hill. The rapper and civil rights lawyer, Ben Crump, was at the historic locations to campaign for black business owners.

He also advocated for increased representation in the alcohol industry, in which he has a stake. 50 Cent is the owner of Sire Spirits, an alcohol company. After leaving Capitol Hill, he took to his X account to upload a picture of himself with Boebert. Boeport is a GOP congresswoman known for her outspoken views.

50 Cent captioned the viral image, complimenting the Colorado representative. He wrote, “Lauren Boebert, Colorado Republican making the White House look good. He ended the caption with a smirking emoji. Over 3.2 million people have now seen the tweet.

However, the reaction to the image was met mostly with hostility, with several people expressing their displeasure with it. A user had replied to the image, tagging Boebert X’s account, before calling her an embarrassment. The user also said she was going to lose her next election.

Another user commented that 50 Cent’s decision to take a picture with Boebert was disappointing. The user further accused 50 Cent of selling his morals for income from “MAGAt.” The user continued claiming that 50 Cent would no longer be remembered for his music but as a traitor and terrorist.

Another user said that this was the reason they do not pay any attention to rappers’ political views. However, not everybody was annoyed or offended by the post. A supporter of the post wrote that the picture was impressive before adding a fire emoji.

Another supporter chose to praise 50 Cent, listing his achievements and calling him a national treasure. Another commentator on X wrote that they were following 50 Cent’s X account.

Boebert, who is an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump, entered the political limelight in September 2023, following a report. The report claimed that the congresswoman and her date were sent out of a Beetlejuice production for inappropriate behavior. The musical was held at downtown Denver’s Buell Theater, Colorado.

When the allegations initially surfaced, Boebert denied every allegation of misconduct until a security recording was released. In the video, Boebert was seen vaping while touching her date sexually in the theatre. Subsequently, after the incident, Boebort lost several of her donors, with some retracting their endorsements. She then issued a public apology.

In the aftermath of the backlash, 50 Cent took to X again in an attempt to clarify things. He posted an image of himself outside the building, which he captioned with his opinion. 50 Cent wrote that he had taken numerous pictures with several people, but they cared about the one with Boebert.

The rapper is no stranger to political involvement. On Monday, June 4, 2024, he said that the world is nearly over in response to reports that Donald Trump’s campaign had raised over $200 million since his conviction
